Leading environmental community charity Groundwork UK today launch their new Youth Network, inviting applications for Young Green Ambassadors from those passionate about their local environment.
Groundwork Youth is a platform for 16-24 year olds to take action in their local environment, providing them with opportunities and experiences that develops their leadership potential and connects them with like-minded people wanting to make a difference in their communities.
Groundwork Youth are inviting applicants to join their Youth Network driving forward a national campaign. They are looking for 100 young people to join as Young Green Ambassadors and for 12 to take up positions on their Youth Advisory Board. Applications for both roles are now open and close on Wednesday 5th July.
Those undertaking this flexible, voluntary role with Groundwork UK will receive full training alongside other Ambassadors at an annual Youth Summit and ongoing support to achieve their goals. They will run campaigns, projects and represent your area across the UK, meeting other environmental leaders and gaining voluntary experience with various partner organisations.
Fields in Trust enjoy a long-standing partnership with Groundwork UK who support the Young Champion Award at the annual Fields in Trust Awards. At the ceremony last December, Toni Dixon was named the latest recipient of the award for her work with the North West Kent Countryside Partnership. During her time with the Partnership, Toni turned her hand to every aspect of the organisation's work, helping to carry out practical volunteering tasks, deliver wildlife education sessions and support volunteers with additional needs.
