Our President Jill Scott MBE takes on Sport Relief challenge

Posted in Community on 5th June 2026

We are incredibly proud to support our President, Jill Scott MBE, as she takes on her epic 388-mile Coming Home Challenge for Sport Relief next week.

Starting on Monday 8 June, Jill will embark on an extraordinary five-day journey, running and cycling from Wembley Stadium all the way to the Stadium of Light in her hometown of Sunderland. Her route will take her through cities including Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, where’s she’ll stop at the stadiums that helped shape her career.

The challenge is a powerful homecoming. Jill’s journey to Sunderland will take her back to the grassroots football club where her amazing career began. Before becoming a renowned Lioness and European Champion, Jill started out playing football in her local park. It’s these early experiences in community spaces that helped her build the skills and passion that led to her incredible success.

Jill’s story shines a light on why access to green spaces is so vital. She knows more than anyone that local parks and green spaces aren’t just land, they are the foundations of healthy communities and grassroots sport, providing a range of opportunities to young people. We must protect them before it is too late.

We couldn’t be prouder of Jill as she takes on her challenge, highlighting the life-changing impact that community spaces and sport can have.

At least half of the funds from Jill’s Sport Relief challenge will support local Sport for Change projects – including initiatives that use football, running, cycling and boxing to create safe, inclusive community spaces – while the rest will fund Comic Relief’s wider work.

Join us in cheering Jill home. You can support Jill here.
