Smallbone Recreation Ground is an attractive green space located centrally in Didcot. As well as a children’s play area the space is home to Didcot’s war memorial which takes the form of a small grey marble column on a red brick base.

The memorial and surrounding gardens are used for remembrance each year and remember 28 men from the area who gave their lives in World War I was well as 64 who fell during World War II. Benches to commemorate the battles of Jutland and the Somme were added as part of the centenary.
